Burnie’s oldest operating business, Vincent Funeral Services was founded in 1868 by John Mylan, the town’s most prominent business man of the time. John and then his son Hugh Mylan operated the funeral business from the corner of Ladbrooke St and Marine Terrace. Hugh was a bachelor, and with no children to carry on from him, he retired and sold the business to Ted and Marion Vincent in 1929.

The values at Vincent Funeral Services include service excellence and providing the highest standard of funeral care, integrity and honesty at all times with those we are honoured and privileged to serve.
They believe in respect and treating the deceased in their care as if they were a member of their own family which includes attention to detail. They believe that each service is an individual experience and seek to ensure the best possible experience for the family.
They seek to provide transparency by providing a complete detailed estimate of all funeral costs at the initial arrangement and continuous improvement by providing their staff with learning opportunities to ensure that they are at the forefront of funeral care.
