The Devonport City Council wants to hear from the community as it draws up its events strategy for the next six years.
In a post on its Facebook page, the council says the Strategy provides a framework for the council to create a stronger enabling environment for staging high quality events.
The main outcomes of the strategy are to attract and support events that generate social, cultural, and economic benefits, increase Devonport’s reputation as a leading regional event destination, develop capability in the local events sector, and define the council’s role in shaping Devonport’s events landscape.
Community input is being sought with an on-line survey on the Speak Up Devonport part of the council’s website.
Devonport Mayor Alison Jarman says she’s open to any and all ideas.
