Four Coastal footballers will get to wear the famous map guernsey on Saturday when they represent Tasmania against Queensland at North Hobart.

Penguin playing coach and former Gold Coast AFL player Luke Russell has been named on the half-back line for the men’s team, coached by former Gold Coast, St Kilda and Richmond player and former coach Maverick Weller.

Russell is the only Coastal player in the men’s team and last wore the map jumper as a 17 year-old, but says the opportunity to play for Tasmania is special at any time.

Burnie’s Baily Boag and Dylan Smith have both been named as emergencies for the men’s team.

Meanwhile, three Coasters have been named in the women’s line-up.

Wynyard trio Abbie Hoiberg-Cox, Olivia Smith and Amy Bissett will all wear the famous map jumper on Saturday, with their former coach Richard Douglas as an assistant coach to state coach and former West Coaster Deb Williams.

Charlie Vandenberg, from Wynyard, has been named as an emergency.
