The future of Devonport’s Rooke Street Mall will be put for public comment later this year.
The Devonport City Council has been surveying retailers in the CBD on a number of issues including the future of the mall, which was built more than 40 years ago.
Re-vamping sections of the CBD are on the council’s radar as stage three of the Living City project.
Suggestions for the mall include returning it to a street with two-way traffic, opening it to one-way traffic, or leaving it as a mall.
Devonport Mayor Alison Jarman says consulting with retailers first is important as they will be the most affected by any changes.
