Concerns over a perceived rise in youth crime on the North-West Coast are once again in the spotlight after a Smithton woman shared video footage on-line.
The woman, a mother of two, has told The Mercury her home was invaded by a gang of youths armed with machetes and a chainsaw.
She says they damaged her house, car and fence, with some of their actions caught on security cameras at the house.
The woman has also shared video of a gang of youths attacking two younger children inside a local takeaway shop.
Tasmania Police say they are aware of the incidents and are investigating, although no arrests have been made to date.
The latest incidents follow police crackdowns on youth crime and anti-social behaviour in Burnie, Ulverstone and Devonport.
