Zayn has teamed up with the iconic looter-shooter franchise for a brand-new song, and it’s everything we needed.
If you’ve been waiting for a reason to get hyped for Borderlands 4, we just found it. Multi-platinum artist Zayn Malik is jumping into the world of Pandora (or, in this case, the brand-new planet Kairos) with a new song called “Break Free,” created exclusively for the upcoming game.
Known for his killer vocals and genre-bending style, Zayn is a self-proclaimed lifelong fan of the Borderlands series. This collaboration is the perfect mashup of his biggest passions: music and gaming. “Break Free” is inspired by the chaotic, high-intensity action of the game, serving as the perfect anthem as players crash-land into a whole new adventure.
A New Sound for a New Planet
In case you’ve been living under a rock, Zayn is a global superstar. His debut solo album, Mind of Mine, made history by hitting #1 on both the UK and US charts, led by the massive hit “PILLOWTALK.” He’s continued to dominate with albums like Icarus Falls and his most recent project, Room Under the Stairs, which showcased a more intimate side of the artist. After a sold-out solo tour in 2025, Zayn is continuing his winning streak by lending his talents to one of the biggest gaming franchises on the planet.
And speaking of the game, Borderlands 4 is absolute chaos. Players will get to step into the boots of one of four new Vault Hunters, each with their own unique abilities. You’ll be able to blast through enemies with an arsenal of a billion weapons that’s, no joke, in the billions. Get ready to crush, bash, and destroy everything in your path.
This is a crossover we didn’t know we needed, and we can’t wait to hear what “Break Free” sounds like while we’re blasting bad guys.
Borderlands 4 is rated MA15+ in Australia and New Zealand. You can find more info on the game at www.borderlands.com
