An electrical scooter on charge in a kitchen has been deemed the cause of a fire in East Devonport.
An investigation by The Tasmanian fire service concluding Sunday night’s fire on Mary street was accidental, after a lithium-ion battery overheated and subsequently exploded while on charge, quickly spreading the fire and smoke throughout the house.
All occupants of the home safely evacuated prior to the arrival of emergency services and were not injured.
