Vance Joy swept the 2015 edition taking out the grand prize with Riptide, now a stack of Aussies have again been nominated for awards at the 2016 International Songwriting Competition. The ISC is an annual song contest aiming to provide opportunities for both amateur and professional songwriters to have their songs head in a professional environment. There are 36 Aussie acts nominated including the Birds Of Tokyo‘s Anchor, nominated in the Rock and Pop/Top 40 section. The competition, which is held in Nashville each year, is well-known for being judged by some of the biggest names in music. This year is no exception, with the judging panel including Avicii, Lorde, Bastille, Kesha, the American Authors, and Moby.
