Damian Callinan’s ‘Hall Stories’ Show

For the first time in Tasmania, National Performer Damian Callinan’s Hall Stories offers a playful and heartfelt reflection on the unique role community halls play in rural life. The show captures and celebrates the oral histories of Lower Barrington Community residents, preserving treasured local stories for future generations to value and enjoy.

Hall Stories will be presented at the Lower Barrington Community Hall on Friday 24th April starting at 7pm. Showcasing the lived experiences and memories of our local community—particularly our senior residents—through a professionally produced performance that celebrates the unique role of rural halls in bringing people together.

We will collaborate with Damian Callinan to gather local stories through community consultation and interviews. These stories will be woven into the live performance, hosted at our hall and promoted locally to ensure strong community participation and engagement. Bound to be a great night of laughs and entertainment for all!

The show will be recorded as a podcast to celebrate, preserve, and share the rich local heritage of our district with current and future generations.

We hope to see locals and visitors to the region embrace this unique show.  Tickets are available through Eventbrite for $30, be quick to secure your seat.
