$5 million cardboard factory for Devonport

The Devonport City Council has granted planning approval for a $5 million cardboard packaging manufacturing facility at East Devonport.

The facility will be owned and operated by Costa Berries Tasmania, but will have the scope to provide for local other primary producers in the local area and further afield along the North-West Coast.

Costa currently grows berries at two locations at East Devonport and Sulphur Creek.

The site of the proposed cardboard factory is on land in Brooke Street currently being used for cattle grazing and adjacent to Costa’s existing distribution centre.
