The North-West Coast could get another 24-hour fuel and convenience outlet, if plans submitted to the Burnie City Council are approved.
South Australian-based national chain OTR, which is an acronym for On The Run, plans to develop a 24-hour seven-day operation at Cooee.
OTR also has plans to develop a similar outlet in Devonport, on Formby Road.
The company has purchased the site on the corner of Elizabeth Street and Formby Road, with the development application approved by the Devonport City Council 18 months ago, but the site has yet to see construction commence.
The Central Coast Council also approved a large fuel and food outlet on South Road at Ulverstone in 2022.
However, Hobart-based Tasmanian Keystone Development, withdrew from the project last year and now has the it on the market for a new developer to take over.
