Australia Day celebrations galore for the North-West

Most centres on the Coast will have a major event to celebrate Australia Day on Sunday, apart from, the Circular Head Council will host the Day on the Duck Festival on West Esplanade at Smithton from 12-7 pm on Saturday.

Meanwhile, other community Australia Day on the Coast will include the Aussie Fun Day in Burnie, the Great Australian Sand Castle Competition in Devonport and the iconic Henley on Mersey Festival at Latrobe – all on Sunday.

Henley on Mersey is known for its ferret racing, woodchopping, fashions, family games and live entertainment programme

The Port Sorell-Shearwater will host multiple events on Sunday.Events will kick off with the Port Sorell Lions Club Australia Day Book Sale at the memorial hall, followed by the popular waterslide, pancakes and barbecue event at the Port Sorell Bowls Club will run from 10am to 12.30 pm.

The gazebo on East Esplanade will be the site for a Mr Perfect barbecue from 11am to 12 noon, while the Port Sorell Bowls Club will host a barefoot bowls competition and barbecue from 12 noon.
