A Circular Head youth has been airlifted to the Launceston General Hospital after an ATV crash in Nabageena.
Smithton Police and Ambulance crews were called to a private property on Maguires Road just after 1pm, August 20 2022.
Five local girls were riding a Polaris side by side ATV when the vehicle hit uneven ground, causing the centre passenger’s foot to hit the pedals.
The driver lost control of the vehicle, which then rolled onto it’s side and landed on the driver’s leg.
The incident caused a serious leg fracture, all children involved received minor head injuries.
Helicopter crews rushed the driver to hospital, while the remaining four girls were taken by ambulance for assessment and treatment.
Tasmania Police have confirmed all children were wearing fitted seatbelts at the time of the incident.
