Police numbers on the North-West Coast will be boosted by recruits from the latest graduation of 74 new constables from the Tasmania Police Academy.
16 of the rookies will be posted to Burnie and 10 to Devonport, with the remainder to start service in Launceston, Hobart, Bellerive, Glenorchy and Bridgewater.
Included in the North-West Coast contingent of newbies will be the dux of the graduating class, Constable Imogen Bobrowski.
Around 20 of the new constables are from the North and North-West and were enrolled in the Launceston Satellite Recruitment Course, allowing them to train closer to home and family.
Police and Emergency Services Minister and Braddon MP Felix Ellis says the latest graduation, a record in itself, also takes statewide police numbers to a record 1431 officers, the highest number in Tasmanian history.
