Work has started on improving one of the accesses to the popular Coles Beach in Devonport.
In a post on its Facebook page, the Devonport City Council says a section of Coles Beach Road will be closed during the work, with beach access still available though alternative access points, with signage in place to guide beach-goers.
The council says the works are expected to take around six weeks and will include a new walkway made from recycled fibre reinforced plastic, which is also lightweight, making minimal impact on the sensitive sand dunes and foreshore environment.
