Australia’s team for the Commonwealth Youth Games is on its way to Trinidad and Tobago for seven days of intense competition.
Included in the team is Ulverstone triathlete Jack Latham, part of the four-person Australian triathlon team and the only Tasmanian in the entire Australian contingent.
The 17 year-old will compete in the men’s individual triathlon on Sunday and the teams event on Tuesday.
All triathlon events at the games will be held at Tobago’s Buccoo Beach, covering the super sprint distance of a 400m swim, 10km bike ride and 2.5 km run.
The games’ opening ceremony will be held at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, in Trinidad, on Friday.
