Tasmania now has 10,081 active coronavirus cases in newly-released daily figures, just over half of those in the state’s south.
It’s the highest active case count since mid April.
There’s also been another death but as of Thursday morning authorities were yet to release details of the person’s age or location.
There were 1844 new infections in the 24 hours to 10 am Thursady and the number of patients with covid in hospital around the state leapt to 125, facilities dealing with at least half-a-dozen outbreaks.
