Former Devonport Mayor Peter Hollister’s service to Local Government has been recognised at the Local Government Association of Tasmania annual conference in Hobart.
Councillor Hollister, who has been a member of the council for 24 years, has been awarded the LGAT’s service award for 2024.
He was Devonport Mayor from 2002 to 2005 and Deputy Mayor from 2000 to 2002.
Councillor Hollister has served on numerous council committees and has also been active participant in the Dulverton Regional Waste Management Authority, which serves Devonport, Latrobe, Kentish and Central Coast Councils.
The LGAT has also awarded its delivering excellence awards for 2024 dominated by Southern councils, with Clarence, Derwent Valley and Sorell taking out their respective categories.
