Devonport firefighter Marlon von Moger has won the Melbourne Firefighter Stair Climb for the second year in a row.
Mr von Moger was the fastest overall to climb 28 stories of the Crown Metropol building, wearing 25kg of breathing apparatus and turnout gear, among more than 460 entries from all over Australia.
His time of 3 mins and 31 secs also broke his previous record from last year by 11 secs, also winning his age category, for males aged 40-49.
Mr von Moger was one of 21 competitors from Tasmania to tackle the climb, which also included firefighters from Devonport, Burnie and Ulverstone brigades.
Funds raised by the charity event went to Lifeline, the Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation and 000 Foundation.
