Devonport’s new much anticipated waterfront light and sound show will fire up for the first time this month.
The $3 million installation has recently undergone testing, with the Devonport City Council and multi-national designer Mandylights, both impressed with the finished product.
Although the council hasn’t formally announced a start date for the show, July 20th seems the most likely date as part of the inaugural Music by the Waterfront free community event.
In a post on its website, the council says the evening, from 5-9 pm will include live music, an engaging fire performance, glow-in-the-dark face painting for children a light show at the rotunda – referencing the new sound and light show.
Music-wise, the entertainment will be headlined by internationally acclaimed Australian-Irish group, the PotBeleez, supported by a talented line-up of local performers.
A gold coin donation entry for the event hopes to raise $5000 for Ronald McDonald House.
