Devonport has been named Tasmania’s top tourist town for the second year in a row, with the North-West Coast taking out the award in two of the three categories.

Stanley was named top tiny town, for populations of less than 1500, for the third year in a row.

Richmond, in the South of the state, won the award for small towns with populations between 1500 and 5000.

Premier and Tourism Minister Jeremy Rockliff says Devonport is a worthy winner of the top award and is a vibrant hub for the Cradle Coast region with its newly developed waterfront and an ideal launch pad for day trip exploration.

Devonport, Richmond and Stanley will go on to represent Tasmania in the Australia’s Top Tourism Town competition, to be announced in Canberra in September.
