The much anticipated $26 million Don Irrigation Scheme will start operation on October 1st.
The scheme will provide almost 5000 mega-litres a year for for farms at Lillico, Don, Forth, Forthside, Melrose, Lower Barrington, Barrington, Sheffield and West Kentish.
To date, 54 customers have signed up to the scheme, but it’s not too late to get on board with the capacity to take on more properties.

Irrigation Tasmania says the scheme will have a life of 100 years and lead to around 30 local jobs as farms expand their production.
