Experts will examine the inflatable jumping castle which blew into the air in December 2021, killing six children and seriously injured three others at Devonport’s Hillcrest Primary School.
Coroner Olivia McTaggart has released the jumping castle to be re-inflated and forensically examined ahead of the pending court case against Taz Zorb owner Rosemary Gamble, who has pleaded not guilty to a charge of failing to comply with work health and safety requirements.
Earlier this month, in the Devonport Magistrate’s Court, prosecutors told the court the jumping castle was being held in evidence by the coroner, which was delaying the criminal case.
The hearing was initially set down for September 2nd, but was adjourned until November 5th.
It’s now expected expert inspections will be completed in coming weeks, the hearing is likely to go ahead on the scheduled November date.
