The North-West Coast looks likely to lose one of it’s favourite trout fishing spots.
Fromberg’s Dam, on private land at Ulverstone, has been popular with the Coastal Junior Anglers Club, and the place where many youngsters caught their first fish, with Inland Fisheries stocking it with hundreds of rainbow trout in the past seven years.
However, plans by the new owner to redevelop the site at 2 Waverly Road into a 17-lot residential subdivision by draining the dam and filling it in look likely to go ahead.
A report to be tabled at Monday night’s Central Coast Council monthly meeting for July, has recommends the development application be approved, subject to a number of conditions.
Several submissions were received opposed to the application, but the report says the proposal has demonstrated satisfactory compliance with the Central Coast Council’s planning scheme.
