This week is Harmony Week and a number of events are being held on the North-West Coast to celebrate diversity, inclusiveness and respect, bringing people from different backgrounds together to create a sense of belonging.
The Burnie Library will be hosting a morning tea, bi-lingual expo and other activities on Wednesday, while Haines Waterfront Park in Devonport will come alive on Friday, with cultural performances, food, games from around the world and children’s activities.
The free family-friendly, alcohol-free event will run from 5.30 to 8.30 pm and will feature music and dancing from Ireland, Colombia, Cambodia, Indonesia, Greece, Samoa, Sri Lanka. Chile, Africa and India.
