Tasmanians can now access statewide flood risk information through TasAlert’s RiskReady section.
Minister for Police, Fire and Emergency Management, Felix Ellis, said RiskReady provides a simpler, more accessible way for Tasmanians to view and understand flood risk information.
“Understanding your local flood risk is one of the most important steps we can all take to prepare for future emergencies,” Minister Ellis said.
“RiskReady allows users to access property-specific information about natural hazards and practical steps they can take to reduce risk and improve preparedness.
“The new flood mapping information complements existing RiskReady information on bushfire, landslide, coastal inundation and coastal erosion hazards.
“By providing flood information in a clear and user-friendly format, we are helping Tasmanians make informed decisions to better protect their families, homes, businesses and communities.”
The flood maps will also support emergency management agencies, councils and other stakeholders to strengthen planning, preparedness and risk management activities.
