Independent Braddon MP Craig Garland says the turn-out of more than 200 people to his public form in Burnie on Sunday on Bass Strait fisheries, salmon farms and sardine fishing sends a clear message to the State and Federal Governments.
Mr Garland says it’s critical for Braddon constituents to stay engaged with big issues to ensure the major parties don’t get away with putting industry and corporations before the community and the environment.
He says independent MPs like himself, hold the balance of power in Parliament and have the ability to bring about change.
Mr Garland says he’s received a lot of positive feedback on the rally from people who attended or watched it on-line.
He says the video is still on his Facebook page for anyone who missed the forum and wants to hear what was said at the event.
