Smithton basketballer Jacob Furphy has been selected to play for Australia in the first ever Trans-Tasman 3×3 series.
Aussie Men’s and women’s teams will play New Zealand in a seven-game series later this month.
Basketball Australia says it’s selected emerging talents to wear the green and gold for the series, including Furphy, who recently played in Australia’s gold medal winning team at the Oceania under 17 championships on the Gold Coast.

Furphy had limited court time this year with the North West Thunder in the NBL-1 competition after taking up a scholarship to the Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence in Canberra.
