Incentives for North-West child safety and youth justice workers

Child safety and youth justice employees on the North-West Coast will receive additional payments of up to $30,000 on top of their base salary as part of a new incentive package aimed at boosting the workforce in the region.

Minister for Children and Youth and Braddon MP Roger Jaensch says vacancies in the sector on the North-West Coast are the highest in the state.

Mr Jaensch says the new package includes financial incentives and other strategies to attract and retain staff, including relocation support and new scholarship opportunities.

He says child safety and youth justice workers on the North-West Coast have been doing an incredible job in extremely challenging circumstances.

A recruitment drive for more workers will start at the end of this month.
