A Sorell beating in March last year that led to the death of a man has been wrapped up legally.
The man who had hit Adrian Garcia with a broom stick before he was mortally wounded with a baseball bat by now convicted murderer Braydon Kelleher has escaped a jail sentence.
32 year old Beau Abel, whose girlfriend died 5 days earlier, attacked the drunken Garcia with the stick in a Sorell Park over disparaging comments about his girlfriend reported to him.
Kelleher, the grandson of the girlfriend’s mother, inflicted blows to the head with the baseball bat that ended up becoming fatal.
Abel has been given a three month suspended prison sentence.
