More than $40,000 prize pool for Tasmanian Young Farmer of the Year award

Young farmers from along the Coast from Circular Head to Sassafras are being encouraged to enter this year’s Woolworths Tasmanian Young Farmer of the Year Competition.

The event is organised by Rural Youth and is open to any Tasmanian farmer aged between 15 and 30 to test their agricultural skills and knowledge against their peers.

Last year’s winner was Moriarty farmer and former Agfest chair Owen Woolley.

This year’s award will feature a prize pool of more than $40,000, including a Polaris Ranger S30, valued at $17,000.

Heats of the competition will be held at the Agfest site at Quercus Park, Carrick on June 27th, with the final on August 24th at the same venue.
