A range of events and activities will be held on the North-West Coast this week to celebrate NAIDOC Week.
A flag raising ceremony started Coastal celebrations at the Tasmanian Aboriginal Centre Burnie office at 11am on Monday morning.
The centre will also host a trivia night on Wednesday at 5pm, while a children’s ball will be held at the Turners Beach Community Centre on Thursday from 4.30 to 6.30 pm.
Ulverstone’s cultural precinct Hive will also be screening ta-kila ti milay-thina, meaning Heart in Country, at its planetarium throughout the week.
The production is an immersive locally produced short feature by Dave Gough, Darryl Rogers and Ian Chia, offering a cultural journey through the rhythms of day and night with the palawa indigenous community.
