A Tasmanian coroner has lashed the Australian Transport Safety Bureau for what he’s described as a “worthless” investigation into a young Par Avion pilot’s death.
Tranmere woman Nikita Walker was killed on impact when her Britten Norman BN2A crashed into the Western Arthur Range in late 2018.
Coroner Simon Cooper has ruled the 30-year-old’s death accidental, given the heavy cloud in the area at the time.

He’s also ruled out mechanical issues, drugs, alcohol, suicide or fatigue as possible factors.
Mr Cooper criticised the ATSB investigation as anonymous and based on unfounded speculation.
