Police have arrested a man in his 40s after an early morning shooting in George Town in the state’s north.
It comes after a man in his 20s was taken to the Launceston General Hospital earlier this morning.
Police were called by a neighbour to a property in Davies Street around 4am, finding the younger man with a gunshot wound to his upper body.

He’s believed to be in a stable condition.
Police say the two men are known to each other.
Investigations are continuing.
