Devonport Football Club coach Kurt Byard says Saturday’s historic win over the Burnie Dockers in the NWFL grand final was his last at the helm.
In front of a crowd of four and a half thousand, the Mapgies were in control from the outset, keeping Burnie goal-less in the first quarter, to make it three successive premierships for the club, with Devonport on-baller Keegan Lowe receiving the Wayne Wing Medal for best on ground.
Byard says his decision is purely personal and the club has been aware of it for a while, with the grand final victory providing a fairytale finish.
Although not officially confirmed, it’s believed former Devonport and Ulverstone player Justin Rodman is set to take over at the Magpies for next season.
