The search for missing Deloraine man Kerry Frankcombe has resumed this morning — after the overdue 75 year old’s 6 metre boat was found off the coast of Beechford yesterday.
That’s 40 km away from Port Sorell, where he’d set out for a fishing trip on Sunday, creating a large search area.
His boat has been taken to the George Town Police Station for forensic examination, but police believe the craft to be seaworthy, only deepening the mystery about it’s owner.
Police say he appeared to have been well prepared, including having an Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon, or EPIRB device on board, which was not activated.
