A low pressure system’s bearing down on Tasmania to send temperatures tumbling.
Meteorologist Jonathon How is forecasting conditions to keep much of Tasmania indoors tomorrow (Saturday)
“Cold across Tasmania with the snow level falling to about 200 metres across southern parts of the state, that means we could see some flurries about some of the high elevation suburbs in Hobart, just 11°C but those showers clear out towards the east by the evening with just a few spots remaining.”
Some freezing temperatures are just what the doctor ordered for skiing at Ben Lomond.
Resort Managing Director Ben Mock sees a solid stretch of weather ahead for the back end of the season.
“It’s hanging around for the next two weeks actually, we’ve made a decision to keep making snow for the rest of the month, we’ll see what happens tonight, but we’ve got enough stockpiled at the moment to push some snow out and get our lifts operating hopefully for this weekend.”
