Coastal councils are being encouraged to apply for funding in round two of the All-access All-weather Bus Stop Upgrade Grant Programme.
Almost 100 stops, including 27 on the North-West Coast, were approved for an upgrade through the first round announced in June and expected to be finished by January.
The State Government matches council funds 50-50 through the grants programme.
Coastal stops already approved for upgrades include 19 in six Burnie suburbs, as well as four in Devonport, two at Port Sorell, and one each at Railton and Latrobe.
Transport and Infrastructure Minister Michael Ferguson says there’s around 3500 bus stops around Tasmania and is urging anyone wanting to nominate one for an upgrade to contact their local council to facilitate a submission.
