Aspiring young athletes with an eye on the 2032 Brisbane Olympics and Paralympics will have the chance to see if they have what it takes to compete at the highest level when the Tasmanian Institute of Sport Talent Identification Programme visits the North-West Coast next week.

Testing started in Hobart yesterday, with trials to continue in Launceston next week Monday and in Devonport on Wednesday.

The TIS is looking for athletes from all sporting backgrounds who may find themselves being perfect for a sport they have never tried before.

Testing will identify athletes who have natural upper and lower body power, good endurance and mental capabilities to help them become Olympic and Paralympic athletes.

The range of tests used vary from the classic beep test to a 20-metre sprint and vertical jump.
