Teams with names including Connie the Cow, Rusty Nuts and Putty McPutt-Face heading to the North-West Coast can only mean one thing – TasBash is in town.
The annual Variety Children’s Charity Tasbash event will see 11 imaginatively themed vehicles and teams with equally imaginative names on a six-day trek around the state.
TasBash injects money teams have raised into towns along the route, which enables local community groups to do great work in improving their infrastructure or initiating projects in schools.
This year’s event will start from State Parliament in Hobart tomorrow, spending the weekend in the South of the state, before heading to Devonport on Monday night.
Tuesday’s route will take in Forth, Ulverstone and Lake Barrington, while on Wednesday the event will pass through Penguin, Burnie, Boat Harbour, Stanley and finish at Smithton.
The final day on Thursday will include visits to Redpa, Marrawah and Arthur River, before official event finish at Smithton.
