The name of Tasmania’s new AFL team and its colours could be known by the end of the year.
Newly appointed chair of Tasmania’s new AFL team Grant O’Brien has hit the ground running and is setting some ambitious timelines, including the colours and mascot.
The former North-West Coaster and CEO of Woolworths, was officially welcomed into the job on Friday in his former home town of Penguin by AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan and Premier Jeremy Rockliff.
Mr O’Brien, who played football for Penguin in the 1980s including a premiership with the Two Blues in 1980, says he’ll have a board of directors for the new club in place by the end of next month
