Coastal farmers wanting to gain an insight in to how technology can help manage pest and disease risks will have the opportunity to get the latest updates at two information sessions next month.
The free sessions will be held at Redbank Farm at Sisters Creek on February 12th and at the Tasmanian Institute of Agriculture’s vegetable research facility at Forthside on February 13th.
Visitors to farms can unknowingly introduce pests, diseases, and weeds, while contaminated boots, vehicles, or farm supplies can carry these unwelcome hitchhikers, potentially causing devastating impacts.
The two interactive sessions are tailored for growers, field staff, and agronomists and will explore using the Onside digital platform to map farms, gain practical experience, and access essential insights into pest and disease management.
