Thousands of North-West Coasters have taken advantage of the opportunity to vote early in Saturday’s referendum on the indigenous voice to Parliament.
People who are unable to vote on Saturday due to absence or work commitments can vote early, or alternatively apply for a postal vote.
Applications for postal votes close at 6pm on Wednesday.
Early voting stations in the Braddon Electorate have been set up at Queenstown, Ulverstone, Burnie and Devonport.
The Australian Electoral Commission says more than 3600 people have voted early to date in each of the Burnie and East Devonport centres, which have been open since October 2nd.
Ulverstone and Queenstown early voting centres opened on Saturday, with almost 1100 people voting early at Ulverstone and 429 at Queenstown.
And, in good news for many, the electronic media blackout on election advertising kicks in from midnight tonight.
The fine for not voting in the referendum is $20.
