Entries are open for this year’s 40th running of the Strait Link Burnie 10, which will be held on October 27th.
One of the earliest entries received has come from former 10km Australian record holder and 2022 women’s winner Leanne Pompeani, from the ACT.
After winning the 2022 Burnie 10, Pompeani broke the all-comers Australian 10k record at the Launceston 10 last year.
However, the mark was bettered at the weekend in Melbourne by South Australian Izzi Batt-Doyle, who sliced 25 seconds off the record, firing Pompeani up to try and get the record back in Burnie.
Meanwhile, entries have also opened for next year’s Bluff to Boat Ramp Fun Run in Devonport in March next year, which will include 10km, 5 km and 1.5km events.
