Tickets for next month’s free St Luke’s Symphony on the Waterfront in Devonport have all been snapped up less than 48 hours after becoming available.
The inaugural event two years ago attracted more than 5000 music lovers from all over the state, with this year’s February 8th event expected to at least equal or better the number.
Although it’s a free event, registrations were still required to assist with crown management, with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra website reporting the event had been fully subscribed by the weekend, after only opening for registrations last Thursday.
The event, in Haines Waterfront Park, will include food vendors and entertainment from 12.15 pm, with the Tai Chi at 5.15 pm, followed by the Right on Cue choir at 6 and the TSO from 7pm.
A special area has been set aside for picnic blankets and no chairs, and major event sponsor St Lukes Health will also provide sunscreen and hearing tests.
