The Tasmania Fire Service has declared a Total Fire Ban from midnight tonight until midnight Saturday for the North of the State which includes the municipalities of Break O'Day, George Town, Northern Midlands, Dorset, Launceston,West Tamar, Flinders and Meander Valley.
During this Total Fire Ban, agricultural harvesting is not permitted between the hours of 9.00am to 8.00pm.
During a Total Fire Ban it is a criminal offence to light a fire in the open air on any land for any purpose and use machines or apparatus that may cause a spark or flame in the open air.
This includes grinding, cutting and welding, and any other hot work practice.
Temperatures are estimated to reach mid-thirties in parts of the State tomorrow including the Central North and Midlands areas.
