A man is facing court today after hundreds of illicit pills were allegedly found at a house in Hobart's north.
Late on Friday afternoon, Tasmania Police attended a property in Rosetta, discovering a total of 2286 opium poppy capsules and residue.
A 36-year-old male from Adelaide was arrested and charged with trafficking in a controlled substance.
He faced an out-of-hours Hobart Magistrates Court session on Saturday and was remanded in custody ahead another appearance today.
Police say opium poppy crops are grown right around the state but people should be aware of the risks associated with their use for illicit purposes.
