The Bendigo Bank will close its Port Sorell branch later this month.
The bank says a review of transaction activity showed evolving customer habits using on-line and digital technology and a decline in the demand for in-branch transactions makes it no longer viable to keep the branch open.
The branch will close on August 19.
Bendigo Bank branches on the Coast will remain open at Devonport, Sheffield, Latrobe, Smithton, and Burnie.
The latest closure announcement continues the trend of banks pulling out of regional Tasmania over the past few years, with ANZ closing branches at Ulverstone and Wynyard and the Commonwealth Bank shutting up shop in Somerset and Sheffield.
