E-scooters to hit the Coast tomorrow

E scooters
The North-West Coast's first fleet of a hundred E-scooters will hit the streets of Burnie from Thursday.
The distinctive purple Beam scooters will be available in the CBD, Cooee, Park Grove, Shorewell Park, Montello, Upper Burnie and South Burnie areas.
Beam says the app-based service will feature an affordable pay-as-you-go rates, with a one dollar unlock fee and 45 cents a minute to ride.
Beam general manager Tom Cooper says the scooters will be available for use 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, improving transport options and connections for both leisure and commuting.
Mr Cooper says E-scooter trials in Hobart and Launceston have been successful.
Meanwhile, the Devonport City Council says it's still in discussions with E-scooter providers with a view to possibly introducing the service later this year.
