Harry Styles has given fans a seriously sweet moment during the opening night of his massive New York residency, paying tribute to the late Dolly Parton.
The singer kicked off his 30-show residency at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night, just one day after the music legend passed away at the age of 80.
A Sweet Shoutout To Dolly
During the show, Harry took a moment to thank the musicians who had inspired him throughout his career.
And of course, Dolly got a special mention.
“Dolly, we love you. Thank you so much.”
The crowd responded with huge cheers before the arena suddenly filled with phone lights as Dolly’s iconic 1974 song I Will Always Love You began playing.
Harry encouraged the crowd to sing and dance along, turning the moment into a beautiful tribute to one of music’s biggest legends.
A Song That Means So Much
Dolly’s version of I Will Always Love You was released in 1974, long before Whitney Houston’s unforgettable version introduced the song to a whole new generation through The Bodyguard.
The song has since become one of the most recognisable ballads in music history.
Harry is far from the only star paying tribute to Dolly following her death, with artists including Miley Cyrus, Beyoncé, Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter also sharing their love for the country music icon.
